Where do we even start? Right?! So many things to consider when looking for the perfect photographer for your newborn photoshoot. Remember this is YOUR baby, and your photographer is there to help you freeze time and capture lasting memories for you and your loved ones to cherish for ever. With that, comes huge responsibilities as a newborn photographer.

Finding a Newborn Photographer Check List
Do I love the style of photography?
Where are they located?
Are they within my budget?
Do I have a budget? If so what is it?
Do they offer digital images with a print release?
Do they offer Physical Product?
What training have they gone through to handle my baby?
Are they CPR certified?
Do they have a business license and insurance?
Are they clean?
Do they have backgrounds?
Do they have props? What kind? Can I bring my own?
Can parents and siblings be in the photos? If so is there an additional cost?
What if I hate naked shots of my baby?
My baby has baby acne, can that be taken out?
Can I breast feed my baby at the studio?
Can my Mom come with me?
What is included with my session fee / retainer?
And the list can go on and on. If you ask questions to a photographer and they do not answer in a way that you are comfortable with, move on and ask another. It is OK and expected for you to interview your photographer. They will spend hours and I mean hours with your little one. Make sure you like them, and that you are comfortable with them. And if you are not, think of it like a job interview.... Keep interviewing till you find the right one!
